Science Word Parts

Science vocabulary can sometimes feel like a foreign language to students.  One simple idea for helping your students is to create a word wall based on word parts.

I have small posters which include the word part and a graphic to illustrate its meaning posted on the cabinet doors.  As our class learns a vocabulary term that matches a word part, we place it under the word part poster.

I am teaching three different grades of science and was trying to come up with a word wall that I could use for all three and I think this is perfect. Would you mind sharing your word wall parts?

I stumbled across your site and would love your science vocab cards. I have been teaching for a while but now I am teaching 5th grade science and social studies and have many special ed students on our team, and this would be so helpful. Thank you so much! pgrant@dawson.k12.ga.us
